Professor of Computer Science, Business and AI Instructor

Prof. Kevin D. Jones is a dedicated technologist, educator, and researcher with extensive experience spanning industry and academia. Currently serving as a full-time Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department at one of the largest community colleges in the United States, he specializes in programming, technology systems, infrastructure, and business management. He also teaches business courses and is an adjunct professor in at the University of Houston (main campus).

With over two decades of professional experience, Prof. Jones is recognized for his practical expertise in technology leadership and his commitment to student-centered teaching. Prior to his academic career, he held key technology roles at The Coca-Cola Company, contributing significantly to IT operations and serving as a pivotal team member during the Minute Maid Companies’ Y2K mitigation initiative. His industry background also includes founding and leading TEMAC Solutions, Inc., a technology consulting and solutions firm serving major clients across energy and consumer sectors.

Prof. Jones’ research interests focus on the implementation of agrivoltaic systems in Texas, and he is currently a Doctor of Business Administration candidate at the University of Houston, where his dissertation centers on stakeholder perspectives and integrating renewable energy systems with agricultural production. He is also an author of multiple technology books, including widely adopted titles on iPad productivity, and has earned distinction as a top-grossing e-book author in his category.

An Army veteran with leadership experience in both conflict and training environments, Prof. Jones brings a disciplined, real-world perspective to his teaching and mentoring. He has also been deeply involved in community and organizational leadership, mentoring students and professionals alike.

Prof. Jones holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering Technology from Prairie View A&M University, where he served as Student Government President and was active in Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He earned a Master's of Business of Adminitrsation from the International School of Management in Paris, France, and recently earned his Executive Doctorate of Business Administration from The University of Houston.
